MathTango

All of us at Originator are parents.  When choosing what we want to build, we are often inspired by observing our own children.  Math is hard.  And it's boring (sorry, art guy here).

There are a LOT of math apps on the market, but most are "digital flashcards" that children find monotonous and tedious.  We wanted to make learning and practicing math TRULY fun.  To do this, we combined delightful math puzzles with a tried and true "world-building" mechanic.  By doing math puzzles, children earn virtual currency that can be spent to customize their island.  Throw in some hilarious monsters and some outrageous dance parties and you get MathTango!

I was responsible for every visual element of this app.  Character design/modeling/texturing/rigging, UI and UX design, island design and modeling, as well as a major chunk of the game design itself.  I spent a great deal of time in Unity developing the look and feel, building scenes, and animating UI and game objects.  I'd venture to call myself an "Intermediate Unity User" now. ;)    Additionally, I managed a team of 3 animators, 1 prop modeler and a sound design team.
